Anthony D. Harmacinski

SOUTH BEND - Anthony D. Harmacinski, 83, of North O'Brien Street, passed away at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17th, in his residence. Mr. Harmacinski was born on March 21, 1919, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.

 

On April 23, 1955, in South Bend, he married the former Loretta F. Dubala, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1988. Mr. Harmacinski is survived by a daughter, Virginia M. (Paul) Kowalski of South Bend; two sons, Steve A. Harmacinski and Philip A. (Tanya) Harmacinski, both of South Bend; a brother, Stanley F. Harmacinski, Mishawaka, Ind.; and by four grandchildren whom he loved and cherished, Joshua and Kevin Harmacinski, and Dan and Matt Kowalski, all of South Bend. Mr. Harmacinski retired from the Bendix Corporation in 1981 after many years of service. He was a member of Local 9. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

 

Visitation hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 19th, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. All memorial contributions are to be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 1520 Vassar Ave., South Bend, IN 46618. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Harmacinski family.
