Mahlon K. Harman

GRANGER - Mahlon K. Harman, 84, of 52621 Fir Road, died at 1 a.m. Sunday in St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis, after an illness. Mr. Harman retired in 1974 from the former Bendix Corp. after 35 years of service. He was born Dec. 2, 1909, in North Liberty and was a lifelong area resident.

 

In 1934, in South Bend, he married Elida Fern Chaudoin. She survives with a daughter, Linda M. Howard of Granger; two sons, Kay R. of Sun City West, Ariz., and Rev. William K. of Encinitas, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lawrence and Paul, both of South Bend. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, South Bend, and St. Joseph Valley Rifle and Pistol Association.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunday school at the church.
