Ellie Joe Harris, Sr.

    Service for Ellie Joe Harris, Sr., 70, of 2713  Hartzer St. who died at
7:40 p. m Saturday in Ridgedale Nursing Center, will be  at 1 p.m. Friday in
Clark's Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call
from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. He was a member  of Greater St.
John Missionary Baptist Church.
     Mr.  Harris was born May 11, 1914, in Parkin, Ark., and lived in south
Bend for 40  years, coming here from Chicago. In 1935 in Arkansas, he married
Bernice  Futrell, who died Feb. 13, 1985. He is survived by two daughters,
Karen Futrell  of Houston, and Marsha Futrell of Ontario, Calif.; a son, Ellie
Joe, Jr., Niles;  six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters,
Irma Walker of  South Bend and Marion Moore of St. Louis,  Mo.
