Hildegard M. Hartman

Hildegard M. Hartman, 82, of 2400 College Ave., Goshen, Ind., passed away at noon, Thursday, in Carriage Manor, where she resided since Nov. 8, 1994. She was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Dresden, Germany, to Max and Martha (Oehme) Hegewaldt. She was married to Louis Witner, who passed away April 19, 1956. Later, she married Olen Hartman, who passed away Aug. 16, 1988.

 

In 1970, she moved to Mishawaka, and then to Goshen in 1994. She retired in 1979 as executive housekeeper with St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, and the National Executive Housekeeping Association.

 

Surviving are three grandsons, Mark L. Hofer, Middlebury, Ind., Michael P. Hofer, Fort Wayne, Ind. and Martin H. Hofer, Valparaiso, Ind. A daughter, Hildegarde ''Wendy'' Hofer, wife of the Rev. John Hofer, passed away March 16, 1990. A brother, Herbert Hegewaldt passed away May 20 of this year.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., today, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Services will be at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. The Rev. Rudolph Mueller will conduct the service. Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery, Wakarusa, Ind. Memorials may be directed to Carriage Manor.
