27, 1945 - July 6, 2009SOUTH BEND - Christine Hartstein, 63, died Monday in her residence with her family by her side. Christine was born on December 27, 1945, in Ivyton, KY, to the late Fred and Ines (Caplinger) Farler. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Farler. On February 3, 1962, she married W. Fred Hartstein Jr. in Springfield, OH. He survives along with their two sons, Walter F. Hartstein III and Eric A. Hartstein, both of South Bend; three grandchildren, Chad, Corinne and Eric Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna and Hanna; and a sister, Judy Wells of Springfield, OH. Christine was a phlebotomist at the South Bend Medical Foundation. She loved her job, and loved to work with the elderly. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today, July 9th, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O.
