SOUTH BEND - Amma Bernice Hartz, 90, of Ireland Road, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hartz was a former employee of Wilson Brothers Shirt Co. and Smith's Cafeteria. She was born Dec. 30, 1903, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
On Sept. 30, 1933, in South Bend, as Amma B. Smith, she married Ernest F. Hartz. He survives with a son, Alden J. of South Bend; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was a member of Ireland Road Grace Brethren Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home.
