Emma Grace Hartz, 82, of Lincoln Way West, Osceola, Ind., died at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in her home. On March 19, 1920, in Coldwater, Mich., she was born to Roscoe and Florence Robison.

 

In 1939, in South Bend, Ind., Emma married Charles M. Hartz, who preceded in death on May 26, 1976. She had lived in Osceola at her current address since 1941. From 1955 until 1985 she was employed by the Burger Dairy at various Michiana stores. She also had worked in the kitchen and as an aide at Shamrock Gardens Retirement Community. During the Christmas holidays, she enjoyed serving as Santa's helper at University Park Mall.

 

Emma is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Ed Zimmer of Osceola, Charlene and Ron Rose of South Bend; by two sons and their wives, Charles R. and Lois Hartz of Middlebury, Ind., and Devon "Skip" and Frances Hartz of Bloomington, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Charles and Dorothy Robison of Osceola; and by a special sister-in-law, Billie Hartz of Mishawaka, Ind.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola, with Rev. Philip Jerome, pastor of Gospel Center Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home, and on Thursday from one hour prior to the service time.
