MISHAWAKA - George E. Har-vey, 83, of Currant Road, died at 8 a.m. Friday in an apparent suicide. Mr. Harvey retired from the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp. He was born Dec. 1, 1911, in North Terre Haute, Ind. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Ream of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a companion, Gladys Sorgenfrei. His wife, Edna L. Harvey, and a daughter, Joanne Harvey, preceded him in death. He was a member of Penn North Volunteer Fire Department and Osceola Civil Defense Group.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of St. Joseph County.
