SOUTH BEND - Dorothy Haughton, 76, of
Meridian Health Care Center, died after an illness at 7:25 a.m.
Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Haughton retired from
the South Bend Community School Corp. She was born Jan. 16, 1920,
in South Bend.
On Jan. 31, 1960, in South Bend, she married
James F. Haughton. He died in 1979. Surviving are a daughter,
Diana Haughton of Castalian Springs, Tenn.; a son, Jeff Kovach
of South Bend; three stepdaughters, Kathy Haughton of Terre
Haute, Ind., Penny Bigger of Valparaiso and Gwen Ramras
of Alaska; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Clara Krill of South Bend. A stepson, James
Haughton, died in July 1994.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in
Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral
home.
