Terrance Hauteman

Dec. 11, 1942 -- Dec. 31, 2003

                                       

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Terrance Hauteman, age 61, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, in Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hauteman was born on Dec. 11, 1942, in South Bend, Ind., to Emiel and Irene (Mikula) Hauteman, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Kenny Hauteman.

Mr. Hauteman was employed for 20 years as a credit manager with TransAmerica. He had also worked for seven years with Gainey Transportation. On May 21, 1966, in St. John the Baptist Church, South Bend, Ind., he married Barbara A. Nietch, who survives. Also surviving are his three sons, Jeff S. (Wendy) Hauteman of Cincinnati, Ohio, James A. Hauteman of South Bend, Ind., Bryan T. (Denise) Hauteman of South Bend, Ind.; his three grandchildren, Nick, Bryan, McKenna; his two sisters, Sue (Ray) Rudynski of South Bend, Ind., Scharlene (Jim) Sidenbender of Mishawaka, Ind.; his brother-in-law, John (Vicky) Nietch of Torrington, Conn.; and by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Hauteman was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1960 until 1964. He enjoyed working outside, golfing, bowling, and helping others.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital; or to the Ronald McDonald House of Indianapolis, Ind.
