William D. Havener

March 2, 1922 - May 3, 1989

William D. Havener, 67, of 52315 Scott St., died at 1:27am today in Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Havener was a contract driver and mechanic for The Tribune for thirty years and an auto mechanics instructor at Indiana Vocational Technical College Northcentral in 1977 &

He was born March 2, 1922, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.  On June 6, 1945, in South Bend, he married Gloria Luckey.  She survives along with six daughters, Patricia Jennings, Lillian Havener and Margaret Havener, all of South Bend, Rosanne Havener at home, Ella Gill of Fernandina Beach FL and Gloria Havener of Niles; two sons, William D. Jr. of Niles and Paul E. of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a sister, Margaret Jane Marshall of Tucson AZ.  He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.  He was a licensed real estate broker and a veteran of WW II.

Services will be at 10:30am Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home Cleveland Road Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, where the parish rosary will be said at 8pm.

Services for William D. Havener, 67, of 52315 Scott St., who died at 1:27am Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 10:30am Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call until 5 and from 7 to 9pm today in Hickey Funeral Home Cleveland Road Chapel, where a parish rosary will be said at 8pm.
