SOUTH BEND - Annette C. Hayes, 82, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Portage Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, March 19, in the home of her daughter, Marsha J. Hayes Shemela of Tampa.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Hayes worked for Ball Band and Wyman's Department Store. She was born on Dec. 18, 1915, to Leo and Myrtle (Ley) Bueche in South Bend, and had lived here most of her life.

On Feb. 14, 1942, as Annette C. Bueche, she married Raymond B. Hayes (Hazinski) in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Ind. He died on Nov. 16, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Naomi Fuzey; two brothers, Irwin and Leo Bueche; and by one granddaughter. Mrs. Hayes is survived by a daughter, Marsha Hayes Shemela and (Bill) of Tampa; three sons, Raymond M. Hayes and (Kathy) of Mishawaka, Phillip J. Hayes and (Linda) of Sacramento, Calif. and Michael T. Hayes and (Cynthia) of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Madeline Beissel of Mishawaka; a brother, Irwin Bueche of Mishawaka; and by 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hayes belonged to Corpus Christi Parish and was a former member of Holy Cross Parish and its Altar Rosary Society.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. Camillo Tirabassi officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.
