Dorsa M. Hays, 88, of Mulberry Road,
and formerly of Sherman Avenue, South Bend, died Thursday, Feb.
7, 2002 at 5:10 a.m. in Memorial Hospital. She was born November
17, 1913, in Neoga, Illinois to Alvin C. and Alma (Highland)
Gordon.
She married Glenn M. Hays, September 2,
1933, in Indinapolis, Ind., he preceded her in death July 27,
1989. Surviving is a daughter, Vickie (Mort) Humphreys of
Wilsonville, AL; five grandchildren including Stacey (Bill) Wilson
with who she made her home.; nine great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean (Jeri) Gordon of
Fort Worth, Texas. Preceding in death is a daughter, Shirley Hamann;
a son, Duane M. Hays; her parents; two infant sisters and a
brother, Howard Gordon. She was a member of the Women of the
Moose Lodge #1058, D.A.R. (Daughters of American Revolution),
Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge. She was co-owner of Glenn's
Oil Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 9, 2002, in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend. Rev. Charles Ternet officiating. Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and may call one hour before services today. Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery, Janesville, Ill., on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002.
