SOUTH BEND - O. Carroll ''Cal'' Hazelip, 88, of Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, formerly of 324 Rue Rabelais, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the nursing home. Mr. Hazelip was the former owner of Hazelip Pastries, Mishawaka, and of a bookstore in Angola, Ind. He was born Feb. 29, 1908, in Grayson, Ky.

On Aug. 13, 1926, in Henderson, Ky., he married Christine Alexander. She survives with two daughters, Marcella Kovatch and Barbara Hazelip, both of South Bend; two sons, Malcolm of Nashville, Tenn., and Lowell of Yardville, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a charter member and elder for Apostolic Temple.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and two hours before services Saturday in the funeral home.
