SOUTH BEND - Alma I. Headlee, 100, of South Bend passed
away at 11 a.m. Friday, January, 11 in her residence after an
extended illness. Alma was born on June 15, 1907, in Bedford, IN.
On November 10, 1925, in Decatur County,
Indiana, as Alma I. Robertson, she married Roscoe E.
Headlee who preceded her in death in 1974. Alma grew up in Adams,
IN (Decatur County) just North of Greensburg, Indiana. She
resided in the Michiana area since 1925 and was a homemaker. She
was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her
family as they did her. She is survived by a son; Richard (Irma)
Headlee of South Bend; and by two wonderful grandchildren, Erin
(Will) Schafer of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Moira L. Dillon
(Kirk Buck) of Walkerton, Indiana. Alma loved gardening
and all flowers, she was an avid reader and loved nature. She was
a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She
was also a member of The Garden Club.
Visitation hours will be held from 4 -7 p.m.
Sunday January 13 in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Indiana
23. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday January 14 in
the funeral home with Pastor Richard Siri officiating. Burial
will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Osceola, IN. The
family requests that all memorial contributions be made to The
Center for Hospice and Pallative Care, Inc. 111 Sunnybrook Court
South Bend, IN 46637. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest
Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and
extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Headlee
family.
