Sister M. Francis Assisi CSC, died in the motherhouse of the Congregation at Saint Mary’s College at 2:30 a.m. today after a prolonged illness. She was born Margaret N. Heaney in Manchester, England. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1911; received the habit the same year; and made her final profession of vows in 1916. She spent her community life in nursing in various hospitals of the congregation, spending many years at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho. She was also missioned at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City; and St. Mary’s Infirmary in Cairo, Ill.. Her most recent assignment was at Holy Cross Convent at the University of Notre Dame. Survivors include a cousin, Sister M. Scholastica of Fall River, Mass.

 

A requiem high mass will be held in the motherhouse. Friends may call in the Infirmary parlors. Burial will be in the community cemetery.
