Hattie T. Hechlinski

October 8, 1896 – April 3, 1982

Mrs. Hattie T. Hechlinski, 85, formerly of 221 N. O’Brien, died at 9:30am Saturday in the Carlyle Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born on October 8, 1896, in South Bend, she had lived here her lifetime. On August 23, 1916, in South Bend, as Hattie T. Janowiak, she married Frank Hechlinski, who died January 2, 1961.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Marie) Kopinski and Mrs. Florian (Lorraine) Tyl, both of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Jedrzejewski of South Bend.

Services will be at 11am Monday at St Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas Elliott, C.S.C., associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 9pm today in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today. Mrs. Hechlinski was a member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary, the Good Will Club, the Apostleship of Prayer and Polish Women’s Alliance 305.
