MISHAWAKA - Virginia R. Heideman, 84, of Mishawaka, IN,
passed away March 24, 2008. Born June 13, 1923, in Mishawaka, she
was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (McCullough) McKnight.
On April 24, 1948, Virginia married George
Heideman, who preceded her in death November 21, 2003. Together,
she and George enjoyed many summers at Bear Lake, Michigan, with
family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the First United
Methodist Church, Mishawaka, where she taught Sunday school for
many years. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Cliff) Ponstein
of Holland, MI; a son, George (Karen) Heideman of South Bend;
five grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsay and Joseph Heideman, Chris
Ponstein and Phil (Jenny) Ponstein; and a nephew, Ben (Mary) Cashman
of South Bend.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 a.m.
to noon in the McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, Ironwood Drive,
with services immediately following at noon. Burial will take
place at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist
Church, 201 E. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
