Rosalie "Rosie" Heilman, 68, of Hamilton Street, Granger, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Cardinal Nursing Home, following a one-year illness. She was born on Nov. 22, 1933, to the late Charles and Bertha (Peck) Heilman in South Bend, Ind. She had lived in the South Bend area all her life. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Dye and Martha Scheiwe; and by a brother, Charles Heilman.

 

Miss Heilman retired in 1996 from the Stone Container Corporation, Mishawaka, Ind., and worked many years at the Fidelity Investment Corporation, South Bend. She is survived by her sister, Lola Wright of Plymouth, Ind.; a brother, Raymond (Sandra) Heilman of South Bend; an aunt, Fern Heilman of South Bend; a very close friend, Bonnie Robbins of South Bend; and by many nieces and nephews. Miss Heilman was a 1951 graduate of John Adams High School. She was inducted into the South Bend-Mishawaka Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1998. Rosie loved children, pets and bowling. She was a very loving and generous person. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pet Refuge, Inc., 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.

 

There will be no visitation. Memorial service arrangements will be announced later. The McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46615, is handling arrangements.
