Sister Mary Liguorius CSC, 81, of St. Mary’s Convent died Friday afternoon  in the convent after an extended illness. She was born on Aug. 17, 1890 in Decatur, Ill, and entered the Congregatrion of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 3, 1915 as Rose Anna Heimann. She made her profession of vows on Dec. 10, 1917. She was a registered nurse, and a graduate of St. Alphonsus Hospital School of Nursing in Boise, Idaho. She was assigned to nursing and served at St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend from 1921 to 1962. She resided at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent from 1962 to September, 1971, when she moved to St. Mary’s Convent.

 

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Robert Kissell of South Bend; Mrs. Leo Gengerich, Mrs. Louis “Lewis” Rumschlag, and Mrs. Herman Geimer, all of Decatur; and three brothers, Brother Fred Heimann CPPS, of Cathagena, Ohio, and Henry and Herman Heimann, both of Decatur.

 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
