Evelyn H. Helmuth
Feb. 27, 1905 - Oct. 5, 1999

Evelyn Holderread Helmuth, 94, of South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 12:57 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, in Memorial Hospital.

Evelyn was born in White County, Ind., on Feb 27, 1905. Evelyn had spent the last three years in Atlanta, Ga., and moved back to this area five weeks ago. Her early ancestors were pioneers to Shurbinville, Ind. Evelyn was a homemaker and a self-employed beautician.

 

Evelyn Johnson married Ray Holderread in Niles, Mich., on Jan. 13, 1928. He passed away on Jan. 21, 1959.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lucas of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Brady Holderread of Granger, Ind., Terrence Holderread of Flat Rock, N.C., and Noble Holderread of Eufaula, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Marie Prairie of St. Ann, Ill.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
