Sister Mary Germanus CSC, 73, of St. Mary’s Convent, died Saturday morning in the convent after a short illness. Born Josephine Henderson on Dec. 7, 1903, in County Kilkenny, Ireland, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Oct. 20, 1922 coming from Ireland. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1923 and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1925. She taught in elementary schools in Washington, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas and California before retiring to the convent in 1968.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlors, where a wake services will be at 7 p.m. today.
