Sister M. Beatrix CSC, 87, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died Sunday in Saint Mary’s Convent. Born Margaret Hennessey in Ireland in 1877 she received her early education there. She came to the United States in 1893 to enter the Sisters of the Holy Cross. She received the habit in 1894 and made her profession of vows in 1899. Five members of the immediate family were members of the Holy Cross order, including Rev. John Hennessey CSC, who died last week at Notre Dame. During her community life she was stationed in Logansport, Ind.; Baltimore; Eureka, Utah; Idaho; Austin, Tex.; and St. Mary’s College.

 

The requiem mass will be offered at 6 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s College and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
