Sister Maria Gloria CSC, 80, of St. Mary’s Convent, died there Monday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 30, 1894 in Newport Md. as Ruth Ann Herbert, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 16, 1915. She was received as a novice Aug. 4, 1916 and made her profession on Aug. 65, 1918. She was formerly a teacher in Assumption School and had taught at schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Idaho and Texas. She returned to the convent in 1963.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlors where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
