Levi Herbster, age 74, for years a St. Joseph County farmer, died Monday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock in his home on the Door Road, northeast of Mishawaka in Penn Township, after ten days illness.  He was a brother of Edgar F. Herbster, 1121 North Allen Street, South Bend.

Funeral services will be held in the residence Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock daylight savings time with Rev. Mr. Dunham, of Willow Creek Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating.  The body will be interred in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Herbster was born December 2, 1856, a native of Star County, Ohio, and was brought to this vicinity by his parents when only ten months old.  The family settled in Lakeville, backspace.  Besides his brother Mr. Herbster is survived by his widow, Anna, and two sons, Arthur Herbster, two miles west of Lakeville, and Earl Herbster, of Lakeville.

Funeral services for Levi Herbster, for years a farmer in this vicinity, were conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence, on the Door Road, northeast of Mishawaka, in Penn Township.  Rev. Mr. Dunham, of Willow Creek Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated and the burial was interred in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
