William Earl Herbster, age 47, lifelong resident of Lakeville, died at the Plymouth, Indiana, hospital Sunday of pneumonia which developed after an operation for gallstones.

Mr. Herbster was born west of Lakeville, in union Township, July 28, 1884.  He was educated in the Township schools.  On September 9, 1911, he was united in marriage to Mabel McBride at the home of Rev. Jacob Hildebrand, near North Liberty.  For the last six years Mr. Herbster has been selling insurance, connected with the Indiana farm bureau insurance department.

He is survived by the widow, Mabel Herbster, a brother, Arthur Herbster, Lakeville and eight children, Helen, Raymond, Donald, Hilda, Edna, Glee, Grant and Carol, all at home.

Funeral services will be held at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, central standard time.  Rev. Edward Stump will officiate.  Burial will be made in the Fair Cemetery.  The body may be viewed at the residence until Tuesday.  Mr. Herbster was a member of the Masonic order.
