GRANGER - Dale E. Hertel, 68, of Adams Road, died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Hertel retired in 1988 from County Market. He was born May 20, 1927, in Mishawaka.
On Feb. 1, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Dona Holderman. She survives with three sons, Larry D. and James E., both of Granger, and Gary of New Palestine, Ind.; six grandchildren; and his mother, Mildred Hertel of Mishawaka. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Mishawaka, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Committal services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the mausoleum of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.
