Roland K. Hesch

MISHAWAKA - Services for Roland K. Hesch, 71, who died Sunday night in Winter Haven (Fla.) Hospital after an illness, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Kiwanis Wing of Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.

Mr. Hesch, of 1123 Bennington Drive, was a senior vice president at First National Bank (now 1st Source Bank) who retired in 1987 after 47 years of service. He was a member of the church, Kiwanis Club of Mishawaka, Knights of Columbus Council 1878, Eagles Aerie 2083, American Bankers Association, and was a veteran of World War II.

 

Mr. Hesch was born July 1, 1922, in Mishawaka. On Jan. 7, 1944, in Mishawaka, he married Genevieve Bueche. She died Dec. 12, 1973. On Nov. 15, 1974, in Mishawaka, he married Marcelle ''Jerry'' Gall. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Kathryn Hesch of Mishawaka, Margery Frank of Muncie, Ind., Maureen ''Micky'' Grose of Osceola, and Mary Szynski of South Bend; two sons, John of Mishawaka and James of Spring Lake, Mich.; a stepson, John Patrick Gall of Mishawaka; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Robert of Mishawaka.
