SOUTH BEND - David S. Hes, 64, of South Bend, passed away
on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at 7:40 a.m. in Hospice House after
fighting a seven-year battle with cancer. David was born on
February 19, 1943, in South Bend, to Stanley M. and Adeline (Cholewczynski)
Hes. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley.
On June 29, 1968, he married Faye (Uphold)
in South Bend, who survives along with his mother, Adeline, and
his sister, Kathie (Bill) Taylor of South Bend. David
loved history, reading books, and traveling. He enjoyed sports,
especially Notre Dame, the Cubs and Purdue.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7,
2007, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH
FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary
will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Friday, June 8, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthew
Cathedral. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South
Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
46637.
