Edward Heston, Sr.

     Edward Heston, Sr., 71, of 19864 Pasadena St.,  died at 7:55 P.M.
Wednesday, in the Osteopathic Hospital after a years illness.  A retired Studebaker
corp. employee, he was born Jan. 17, 1897 in Pleasant  Plain, Iowa, and had
resided in South Bend 26 years, coming from Ottumwa, Iowa.  On Nov 28, 1918, he
married Vera Bice, who survives. Also surviving are a  daughter, Mrs. Eloise
Glentzer, and a son, Edward, Jr., both of South Bend;  seven grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mable Sheafe, of  Ottumwa. Friends may
call in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home from 7 to  9:30 p.m. today. The
body will be taken to the Johnson Funeral Home, Ottumwa,  where services will be
conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by Rev. Cecil Simonton,  pastor, Davis St.
Christian Church, Ottumwa. Burial will be in Shawl Cemetery,  Ottumwa. Mr.
Heston was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Eagles  Lodge.
