Benjamin A. Hickey

Benjamin A. Hickey, 66, of 1039 Joseph St., died at Home Hospital at 3:50 p.m. Sunday. He had been hospitalized since Dec. 9 and ill for a year.

Born in South Bend, he had lived in Lafayette since 1936, when he came here from Crawfordsville. In 1935 at Crawfordsville he married Opal Wilson. He worked for Sullivan and Fortner Roofing Co. for 13 years prior to his retirement in 1955.

Surviving are the widow and two daughters, Miss Georgia Anna Hickey and Mrs. Phyllis J. Johnson, both of South Bend, and a brother, Clarence of Niles, Mich.


Editor: He is the son of Pearl Rudduck and Eli Hickey Jr. He previously married Ruth D. Anderson 11-29-1919 in St. Joseph County IN.

Services for Benjamin A. Hickey, 66, formerly of South Bend, who died at Home Hospital Sunday in Home Hospital, Lafayette, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Soller-Baker Funeral Home, Lafayette.

 

He was born July 10, 1900 in South Bend and moved to Lafayette 20 years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Georgianna Hickey and Mrs. Phyllis J. Johnson, both of South Bend, and a brother, Clarence of Niles, Mich., and a grandson. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery, Lafayette.
