James Hickey

July 11, 1898 – July 20, 1964

MISHAWAKA - James Hickey, 66, formerly of 711 E. 7th Street, died Monday afternoon in the Veterans Administration Hospital Fort Wayne. He had been ill for a year, Mr. Hickey was born in South Bend July 11, 1898 and had lived most of his life in Mishawaka.

 

He married Bernice Truchowski in Mishawaka Oct. 15, 1921 and she died April 5, 1960. He had been employed bt the Dodge Mfg. Corp for 24 years before he retired in 1962. Surviving are two sons, Edward James Hickey, of Akron. Ohio and William Charles Hickey of Mishawaka; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Homeleski with whom he had been living and Mrs. Stanley Gumkowski and Mrs. Clem Lyczynski of South Bend; 17 grandchildren and two brothers, Clarence Hickey of Bertrand, Mich. And Benjamin Hickey of Lafayette, Ind. He was a veteran of World War I.

 

Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Last rites for James Hickey, 66, formerly of 711 E. 7th Street, died Monday afternoon in the Veterans Administration Hospital Fort Wayne will be at 9 a.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very Rev. Curt A. Suetzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Members of

Post 360, Veterans of Foreign Wars will be pallbearers and will conduct military rites at the grave. Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel and the rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
