Louis A. Hickey

South Bend Tribune, June 21, 1912, page 6:

Louis A. Hickey, a building contractor, died suddenly last night at his home at 912 North Lawrence street. Mr. Hickey was stricken yesterday afternoon and a physician was summoned. He was given treatment and retired to his room.  Later he was found dead in his bed by relatives. Mr. Hickey was a former member of the South Bend police department. For the past 11 years he had been engaged in the contracting business. Mr. Hickey is survived by his father, Louis Hickey, sr., three daughters, Mrs. Alonzo Hester [sic - Heston], three sons, Thomas L. Hickey, warren Hickey and Marvin Hickey, two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Davis [sic - Davies] and Mrs. Cecelia Adelsperger, and a brother, Elmer Hickey. Mr. Hickey was a member of South Bend council, No. 553, Knights of Columbus, South Bend lodge, No. 235, B.P.O. Elks, aid [sic - and] the East Side Improvement club. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

 

Editor’s Note: Louis A. Hickey was the son of Louis Hickey and Julia La Fountain Hickey. Elmer Hickey was a half brother. He was the son of Louis Hickey and Mary La Fountain Hickey.
