Peter Higgs

May 18, 1860 – November 12, 1928

Peter Higgs, age 68, of 108 North St. Louis Boulevard, died in his residence at 3 o’clock Monday morning of heart trouble.  His death followed a 12 years’ illness. 

He was a native of Marshall County IN, where he was born May 18, 1860, and had resided in South Bend 20 years.

Surviving are six children, LeRoy Higgs and Mrs. Lawrence Gillen of 108 North St. Louis Boulevard; Mrs. Herman Himes, of Mishawaka; Mrs. Oliver Waterman of Cassopolis MI; Mrs. Edward Duncan, of Hillsdale MI, and Mrs. Ernest Kohli, of Mishawaka; and one sister, Mrs. Jane Fink, of Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be held in the residence at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. Elmer Ward Cold, DD of the First Christian Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
