Margaret M. Hillebrand

Margaret M. Hillebrand, 96, of Bremen Highway, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness at 6:31 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend.
Margaret was born on Nov. 15, 1903, in Mishawaka, to the late John H. and Josephine (Mahank) Schmitt. She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Jones. On July 15, 1925, Margaret married Charles M. Hillebrand, who preceded her in death on July 1, 1963.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Margaret A. Hillebrand of Mishawaka; a granddaughter and her husband, Mary and Ernie Cottrill of South Bend; a grandson and his wife, Robert J. and Kathy Hillebrand, Jr., of Granger, Ind.; a great-grandson, Joshua Cottrill of South Bend; and by a niece, Rosemary Sterzik.
Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Mishawaka, the Rosary Sodality at the church, and was a former member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Margaret worked many years out of her home as a well-known seamstress.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 9 in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, in St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mishawaka.
