Michael A. Hill, age 45, of Whispering Hills, South Bend, passed away in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, January 26, 2003, of natural causes. He was born on July 30, 1957, in South Bend.

On August 23, 1986, he married Theresa (Terri) Barnard, who survives, and two sons at home, Bobby 13 and Nicholas 10. A daughter, Natalie Rebekah, preceded him in death in 1988. Deborah Reamer, a sister-in-law, preceded him in death in 1998. Surviving are his parents, Barbra and Robert Hill; a sister, Robin (John) Welcome; niece, Miranda Welcome; nephew, Shawn Welcome of South Bend; brothers-in-law, Joe (Cheryl) Barnard of Indianapolis, Todd (Gina) Barnard of Mishawaka; niece, Sarah (Steve) Foreman; nephew, Chris Cohee; nieces, Ashley Barnard, Taylor Barnard, Kelsey Barnard; and great-nieces and nephews.

Mike was Chief Operating Officer at Reinke Construction and co-owner of On Call Mobile Services, Inc. For Mike, family and friends were everything. He was a devoted husband and father. He was always providing the best for his family. Mike was a person whose presence was always known wherever he was, whether at work, striving to make it the best it could be, or with his friends and family, wanting to help them out in any way he could. Already this week he has helped out strangers by being an organ donor. Mike will be missed and best-known for his laughter, strength and encouragement. He loved to be with his friends; they meant so much to him. As his wife, I have lost my best friend.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 31, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the church services on Saturday, February 1, 2003, at 10 a.m. in 1st Presbyterian Church, South Bend. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions for the children may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank.
