SOUTH BEND - Warren D. Hinz, 72, of
South Bend, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008, with his
family by his side. Warren is survived by his loving wife, Sue
Hinz; three children, John (Karen) Hinz of Monticello, IN, Kevin
(Wendy) Hinz of Buffalo, IN, and Leanne (Sean) Mawhorter
of Carmel, IN. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; one
brother, Gordon Hinz of Mishawaka; one sister, Joan Evert of
Norman, OK; four step-grandchildren, Alan (Anne) Grose of
Washington, Mark (Julie) Grose of Indiana, Kevin (Rene) Grose of
Indiana and Kathy (Barry) Rechtzigel of Michigan; and 10
step-grandchildren.
Warren was born on August 25, 1935, in Corn,
Oklahoma, to the late Arthur and Kathrine (Ediger) Hinz. Warren
resided in the Michiana area throughout most of his adult life.
He graduated from Corn High School and Oklahoma City University.
Warren retired from Bendix- Allied Signal after 26 years of
service. He also served in the United States Army. His favorite
pastime was puttering around in his garage and doing yard work.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the funeral service to follow visitation at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The family requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to The American Heart Association of Northern Indiana, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278; or to the American Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County.
