SOUTH BEND - Mary E. Holcomb, 76, formerly of Fellows Street, passed away following an extended illness on Tuesday, March 24, at the Cardinal Nursing Home. Born in LaPorte, Ind., on Aug. 12, 1921, to William Henry and Ercie Loverty (Rohr) Singleton, she lived here her whole life, and was retired from the South Bend Clinic.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Holcomb. She is survived by her three sisters, Henrietta Wellman, Opal Clymer and Ruth Wrzesien; as well as by three brothers, Cecil R., Victor and John Singleton, all of South Bend, Ind.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the McGann Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road near Ironwood, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Rev. Donald F. Guertin, CSC, associate pastor of Little Flower Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. The family requests that no flowers be sent and that donations be made instead to the Little Flower Parish Building Fund.
