NORTH LIBERTY - Robert Lane Holderread, 92, formerly of North Liberty, passed away on December 21, 2009, in Walkerton Miller Merry Manor after an extended illness. He was a former employee of the Wells Aluminum Corp., and was an area farmer. He was born in Marshall County on December 21, 1917, to Clem Holderread and Ollie Lane. He was married September 1, 1943, in LaPorte, to Helen Beiler, who passed away May 15, 1994. Mr. Holderread is survived by two sons, Mark (Vonna) and Galen (Sandy), both of North Liberty; five grandchildren, Jason, Kerry, Tina, Andrew and Alan; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Holderread was an active member of the North Liberty Church of the Brethren and was a deacon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, in the church with Pastor Carol Pfeiffer officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home in North Liberty. Memorial donations may be made to the Helping Hand Fund of the Church of the Brethren.
