Wallace J. Holmes

July 2, 1923 - March 10, 1998

Wallace J. Holmes, 74, of West Sixth Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a long illness at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, in his residence.

Wally was born on July 2, 1923, in South Bend, Ind., to the late James and Beryl Holmes. Wally married Addabelle Kruger in Mishawaka on Aug. 31, 1957. She also preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 1981.

He is survived by his daughter, Darla Jean Smith of Three Rivers, Mich.; a son, Richard Krillenberger of Lewistown, Mont.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Winifred Avery of Mishawaka; and by two brothers, Preston Holmes of Mishawaka and Robert Hunter of Kokomo, Ind.

Wally was a member of South Bend Eagles Lodge #435, the People of Praise, Community of South Bend, American Legion Post 161, Mishawaka, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, and was a veteran of World War II in the Navy.

Wally had been a automobile salesman in the area for over 30 years.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, with Father James Shafer officiating. Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. VFW Post 360, Mishawaka, will conduct military rites at the gravesite.
