May 30, 1924 - Feb. 21, 2002

Stella M. Holycross, 77, of Franklin Street in Elkhart, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in the Americare Living Care Center. Mrs. Holycross formerly lived on Ellen Avenue in Mishawaka, Ind.

Mrs. Holycross was born on May 30, 1924, to John and Florence Enger in Osceola, Ind. They preceded her in death. Mrs. Holycross was also preceded in death by her sister, M. Irene Gorsuch.

Surviving members of her family include her two sons, Gregg B. Holycross and his wife, Sue of South Bend, Ind., and Danny L. Holycross of Plymouth, Ind.; two daughters, Vicki Bach and her husband, Jerry of Osceola, and Donna F. McClure and her husband, Brian of Keller, Texas; and by her grandchildren, Julie Melser of Greenville, S.C., Ryan Bach of Minneapolis, Minn., Justin McClure and Erin McClure of Keller, and V'ronica Holycross and Eugene Holycross of Plymouth; and by a nephew, Terry L. Gorsuch and his wife, Lori of Charlotte, N.C.

Mrs. Holycross worked for over 25 years for the CTS Corporation in Elkhart. She was also a member of the Osceola United Methodist Church for 65 years.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Osceola United Methodist Church, Osceola.

A memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Jim M. Fritz at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Osceola United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

The Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Holycross' name to the American Activities Fund at 1400 N. Franklin Street, Elkhart, IN.
