Clarence R. Hopkins

Clarence R. (Hoppy) Hopkins, 73, of 23683 Brick, died at 5:17am today in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.  Hopkins was a retired Bendix Corp. employee, having worked there 38 years.

 

Born November 19, 1902 in Saline City IN, he had lived here 40 years, coming from Saline City.  On December 22, 1951, he married Delpha Dyer, who survives.  Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bill Robinson of South Bend; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Fretz of Saline City and one brother, Harry of St Bernice IN

 

Services will be at 11am Wednesday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Rev. John Wrightsman, pastor of the Ardmore Wesleyan Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

 

Friends may call form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday in the funeral home.  He was a member of Local 9, United Auto Workers.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
