SOUTH BEND - Ernest A. Horvath, 75, of Walsingham Lane, died Friday, May 15, 1998, in St. Joseph Medical Center South Bend after an extended illness. Mr. Horvath was born on Oct. 19, 1922, in South Bend to George and Margaret (Burkus) Horvath who preceded him in death.

 

On Feb. 18, 1947, in South Bend, he married the former Mary M. Luttrell who survives. Retiring after 44 years with Dodge Manufacturing Co. Mr. Horvath was a steel shop supervisor. He also retired from Ameritech after 23 years of service in January 1997.

 

Survivors include three daughters, Judith K. (Alan) of Warsaw, Ind., Carol A. (Terry) DeSchepper of Edwardsburg, Mich. and Teena M. Horvath of Mishawaka, Ind.; one son, Brad M. Horvath of South Bend, Ind. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a brother, George A. Horvath of South Bend, Ind.

 

Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1998, in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Ind., with Brother Steve Nani, CSC, officiating. Mr. Horvath served in the U.S. Army during World War II before his discharge in 1946. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
