SOUTH BEND - Mary Horvath, 84, of Juniper Road, formerly of Ethel Avenue, died at 6:08 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mrs. Horvath was born Aug. 20, 1909, in St. Joseph County and was a lifelong area resident.

As Mary Vargo, she married Anthony M. Horvath. He died in 1974. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Holston of South Bend; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Julius Vargo of South Bend and Michael Vargo of Granger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Healthwin Hospital and Nursing Home or Portage Manor.
