A. "Joe" Hosea

March 9, 1935 - Nov. 10, 2001

South Bend, IN — A. "Joe" Hosea, 66 years old, residing on S. 25th Street, South Bend, passed away at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2001, at the St. Joseph Regional M edical Center, South Bend. Mr. Hosea was born on M arch 9, 1935, in Savannah, TN, to Cecil and Wilma (Frazier) Hosea, and has resided in South Bend since 1953.

Mr. Hosea worked for many years at Ball Band and served as the Vice President of the Union. He later worked for Domestic Linen and bartended at the American Legion Post 303 in River Park. He currently worked as a bartender for American Legion Post 161, Mishawaka.

Mr. Hosea is survived by his wife, the former Linda K. (Lennox) Parker of South Bend; one daughter, Theresa Carr of West Palm Beach, FL; two sons; two stepsons; four grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; four sisters, Betty Kyle of Mishawaka, Sue Franks of Florence, AL, Wanda Tekker of Mishawaka and Vicki Hartman of Mishawaka; and one brother, Ed Hosea of Mishawaka. One sister, Janell Semprini, and one brother, Jim Hosea, preceded him in death.

A memorial service conducted by the Sons of the American Legion and the Women's Auxiliary will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 18, 2001, at the American Legion Post 161, 133 E. Mishawaka Avenue. A reception honoring the life of A. "Joe" Hosea will be held from 1:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2001, at the American Legion Post 161. Friends and family are all invited.
