Brinckmann R. Houk

Brinckmann R. Houk, 68, of 1326 N Elliott, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.  He retired in October 1977, from Bendix Corp. where he was employed for 31 years.  Born Sept. 10, 1914, in Ludington, Mich., he lived in the South Bend area most of his life.  In June 1972, he married Virginia Skodinski.  She survives with two daughters, Miss Monica Houk of Mishawaka and Mrs. Mary Coleman of Jackson Center, Ohio; two sons, George of De Moines, Iowa and John of South Bend; a stepson, Robert Skodinski of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Budd Houk of Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral home.  He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Elks Lodge.
