Sarah Howell

Jan. 22, 1855 – May 5, 1944

Mrs. Sarah Howell, aged 89, rural route 1, Osborn road, died at 11 a.m. Friday in her home after a week's illness. She was born in Union township, St. Joseph County, Jan. 22, 1855, and had spent her life in the township.

 

Her marriage to Louis Howell took place in September, 1874. He died in 1933. Surviving are five sons, Charles, of North Liberty, this county; Oliver and John, at home; Andrew, of Lakeville, this county, and Clarence, Hobart, Ind., and a daughter, Mrs. Milton Feagler, Lakeville. The body was removed this afternoon from the Hartman funeral home, Lakeville, to the residence, where friends may call until 2 p.m. Sunday. At that time, the body will be moved to the Olive Branch United Brethren church for services at 4 o'clock; Rev. Robert H. Daube, of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, South Bend, officiating.

 

Burial will be in Porter cemetery, Liberty township. Mrs. Howell was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church in February, 1869.
