Sister M. Ernesta Hoyne CSC

Sister M. Ernesta CSC, aged about 60, a teacher at St. Michael’s Elementary School in Plymouth, Ind., and for many years a successful nurse and teacher for the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, died this morning in St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend. She was born in Ireland and had been a member of the religious order in this country about 42 years. All her near relatives reside in Ireland. She was a registered and served in that capacity for many years in the hospitals of the order in the middle west, southwest and west. Later she turned to teaching and taught also in the west and middle west. At one time she was supervisor of the order’s hospital in Deming, N. M.

 

The funeral mass will be sung at 6 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Mary’s Convent, and burial will be in the community cemetery at St. Mary’s.
