Services for Sister M. Charasine Huber CSC, 83, of Saint Mary’s Convent, who died at 6 p.m. Saturday in the convent, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of Loretto at St. Mary’s, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and Tuesday in the convent, where a wake will be held at 7 p.m. today.

 

She was born Ann Elizabeth Huber on Jan. 8, 1905 in Fairbury, Neb., and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Dec. 8, 1927, coming from Fairbury. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1928 and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1930. She was a teacher and served in elementary schools in California, Arizona, Idaho, and Washington from 1930 to 1976. She was then assigned to teach remedial reading and mathematics on a tutoring basis and came to St. Mary’s in 1984 to serve as sacristan in the convent chapel and assist in the print shop.
