Sister M. Laureen Hubler CSC, 93, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday in the convent. She was an artist and taught art in schools assigned to the Congregation, including St. Mary’s College and Academy, Holy Cross School, and St. Joseph Academy, all in South Bend; with other assignments in Illinois; Idaho; Utah; Washington DC; Kensington, Md.; and Brookline, Mass. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on May 3, 1913, coming from Chicago. She was received as a novice Dec. 10, 1913, and professed her vows Dec. 10, 1915. She was born June 16, 1893 in Fort Wayne as Helen Reparata Hubler.

 

Services will be at 4:45 p.m. today in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
